Patrick Lipscomb Selected for the NCAA Division III Individual Championships for Singles
It was announced earlier today that University of Redlands sophomore Patrick Lipscomb (Irvine, CA) has been selected for the 2013 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Individual Championships as a singles competitor.
Based on win-loss record, strength of schedule, and eligibility and availability of student-athletes, Lipscomb is one of 32 players to advance to the singles tournament, which takes place on May 23-25 at Stowe Stadium at Kalamazoo College (MI).
As the Bulldogs' No. 1 singles player, Lipscomb has posted an 18-5 record this season while taking on some of the best opponents in the nation. Ten of his triumphs have been against teams with rankings among the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) Top 30.
Recently, Lipscomb earned a spot in the semifinals of the Division III singles bracket at the 113th Ojai Valley Tennis Tournament.
Lipscomb continues to play an integral role in the success of the Bulldog men's tennis team, which competes in the 2013 NCAA Division III Championships on Friday. Redlands travels to nearby Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges for a first-round match against the University of Texas – Dallas at 10 a.m. Fans may follow the action via live scoring and video streaming through the host web site.
