Bulldog Tennis Invites High-School Coaches to Free Clinic with Former USC Coach Jim Buck
The University of Redlands tennis programs invite all high-school tennis coaches to a free clinic by former USC tennis coach, Jim Buck, on Friday, October 25, from 4 to 6 p.m. Buck has been the chairman of junior tennis competition for 10 years and currently serves as an officer on the Southern California Tennis Association (SCTA) Board of Directors.
Currently, Buck also leads the Southern California Boys' Team at the annual Maze Cup. In 23 years of competition, his teams have lost only once.
Furthermore, he gained knowledge and experience by working as the varsity tennis coach for Van Nuys High School for 33 years and guiding the men's Italia Cup for a decade.
Finally, Buck led the USC Trojans to a national championship in 1958 as an honorable mention All-American player.
This outstanding learning opportunity will take place at Verdieck Courts on the campus of the University of Redlands. New coaching techniques and drills for tennis will be discussed and demonstrated. In addition, free prizes and gifts will be given out upon completion of the clinic.
Although there is no fee to attend, coaches must sign up by emailing Assistant Coach Rachael Miller at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling her at 909-748-8435.
