The No. 10 University of Redlands men's tennis team capped off the dual-match portion of the regular season with a sweeping victory over the Caltech Beavers on Saturday in Pasadena. With a total team effort, the Bulldogs prevailed at every position for the 9-0 win.
Seniors Tom Suchodolski (Amherst, MA) and Parker Wilson (Carlsbad, CA) set the tone early by cruising by their No. 3 opponents in an 8-1 decision. Senior Jake Ly (Torrance, CA) and junior Joey Dulle (St. Louis, MO) followed suit with an 8-2 victory at the top slot, before sophomores Chase Lipscomb (Irvine, CA) and Adrian Nilsson-Redman (Irvine, CA) eked out a 9-7 win in the tandem's debut at No. 2.
In singles, Ly led 6-2 when his No. 4 counterpart retired from the match to move Redlands within one point of the victory. Suchodolski secured the deciding result with a 6-1, 6-3 performance at No. 5.
In addition, Wilson, sophomore Bryant Johnson (Fair Oaks, CA), Lipscomb, and Dulle all recorded triumphs in their respective singles matches.
