Freshman Forward Courtney Carroll Named D3hoops.com All-West Region Rookie of the Year
It was announced earlier this week that freshman forward
Courtney Carroll (Rancho Palos Verdes, CA) represented the
University of Redlands women’s basketball team on the
D3hoops.com All-West Region Team as the Rookie of the Year.
During her inaugural campaign with the Bulldogs, Carroll led the
team in scoring with 12.1 points per game as the only player in
double figures. She shot .475 from the floor, sinking 112 field
goals in nearly 700 minutes of action during 26 games. Carroll
distributed 47 assists while pulling down 6.5 rebounds per game,
including 41 offensive boards. In addition, she nailed 90 of her
118 opportunities at the charity stripe and blocked 23 shots.
Carroll helped the Bulldogs accumulate a 19-7 overall record for
the most wins in a season in school history. She also played an
integral part in the team’s second-place finish in the
Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC)
standings with an 11-3 mark.
Dating back to the inception of the award in 2001-02, this is the
first time a Redlands women’s basketball player has landed on
the D3hoops.com All-Region teams.
