The No. 13 University of Redlands women's tennis team blanked the visiting Panthers of Chapman University in Friday's Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) match on Verdieck Courts.  The Bulldogs took control with a clean sweep of the doubles and then continued to cruise in the singles matches, winning all six showdowns in straight sets.

The No. 2 tandem of sophomore Julia Pollak (Holland, PA) and freshman Natalie Etchegaray (Placentia, CA) initiated the scoring with an 8-5 performance.   Redlands surged ahead by firing off a pair of 8-3 victories in the remaining matches, with sophomore Maddie Morton (Henderson, NV) and freshman Gabriela Vasquez (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA) joining forces at No. 3, and junior Jessica Ly (Torrance, CA) and sophomore Ceara Sumida (Hilo, HI) combining efforts at No. 1.

Pollak was also the first to finish her singles match, dismantling her No. 5 opponent by impressive scores of 6-0, 6-0.

Sophomore Maddie Morton (Henderson, NV) put this one in the books for Redlands, earning a near-perfect triumph at No. 6, 6-1, 6-0.

In addition, Etchegaray, Ly, Sumida and junior Paige Press (La Jolla, CA) recorded straight-set wins for the Bulldogs.
