The sophomore pair of Lauren Villanueva (El Segundo, CA) and Gabriela Vasquez (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA) then put together a solid 8-5 triumph at the No. 3 slot.
After the Tigers rallied for a win at the No. 2 position, the Bulldogs opened the singles with sophomore Natalie Etchegaray's (Placentia, CA) blanking of her No. 2 opponent to make it a 3-1 advantage for the Maroon and Gray. Villanueva kept things rolling for Redlands by dropping her No. 6 opponent, 6-0, 6-4.
After Trinity cut the deficit to 2-4 with a win at No. 3, the Bulldogs sealed the important regional victory with Sumida's comeback showing that saw her rattle off 10-straight games to prevail by scores of 2-6, 6-3, 6-0 at No. 4.
