It was announced earlier today that senior Alex Stroes (San Marcos, CA) of the University of Redlands was named the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Men's Golfer of the Week. In order to include the recent Las Vegas Desert Classic, the conference office extended the awards window to include February 25 through March 5.
Amidst a Division II-laden field of competitors, Stroes paced the Bulldogs with his tied-for-23rd-place showing off of a 56-hole score of 221. Stroes' best round of 70 was complemented by scores of 73 and 78.
In addition, he led all players with 40 pars over the three days. He finished ahead of all but one Division III golfer at the event.

Stroes and the No. 10 Bulldog men's golf team look forward to competing in the West Cup on Monday, March 25, and Tuesday, March 26, at Sierra La Verne Golf Course.
