The University of Redlands men's water polo team kicked off a stellar afternoon of Bulldog Athletics during Homecoming weekend with a 21-3 dismantling of the Caltech Beavers in Saturday's Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) showdown.
Redlands cruised to a 5-0 advantage through the first period and never looked back while utilizing 11 different goal-scorers in the win.
The opening frame began with junior center-defender Mark Zikov (La Quinta, CA) finding the back of the net, before sophomore center Matt Shippen (Santa Maria, CA) closed out the frame with back-to-back goals.
After the Beavers pulled one back, Redlands answered with five more goals in the second stanza, with each coming from a different Bulldog.
The Maroon and Gray fired off a pair of scores in the third period, with freshman driver Ty Williams (Rancho Cucamonga, CA) and freshman driver Collin See (Orange, CA) each providing goals, to make it 12-2.
Redlands continued to benefit from its well-balanced attack and exploded for nine goals in the final frame. Freshman driver Aki Andersen (Laguna Beach, CA), freshman driver Austin Donoghue (Santa Ana, CA), sophomore driver Chris Blank (Menlo Park, CA), and sophomore driver Logan Wright (Ladera Ranch, CA) each got on the board for the Bulldogs.
See led the Redlands offense with four goals, while freshman center Billy Clifford (Redlands, CA) and Shippen each added three.

Redlands (11-11, 2-1 SCIAC) heads to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges on Wednesday, October 28, for a7 p.m. game against the Stags.
