REDLANDS, Calif. – The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) selection was made for the Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week Monday in the ninth week of voting with First-Year Maegan Deng (Redondo Beach, CA) being selected as the SCIAC Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week for the second time this season.   

The University of Redlands Women's Tennis team looked solid this past week going 3-0 with all three victories coming via sweep beating Whittier College (9-0), No. 50 Chapman University (9-0), and No. 41 Occidental College (9-0). 
Deng continues to be dominant going undefeated on the week, 6-0 playing both No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles.

Against the Poets she paired with Livi Rockwood (Park City, UT) in doubles and won 8-2 before taking out the top player 6-0, 6-2.  On Saturday she returned with L. Rockwood at No. 1 doubles and would coast 8-1 against the Panthers before grabbing a break in each set to beat another top player 6-3, 6-3.  She returned the next day on Sunday to take two against the Tigers.  She and L. Rockwood would win 8-3 at No. 1 doubles and would then carry that momentum into singles taking out another No. 1 player winning 6-1, 6-2.

Redlands returns to the court this Friday, April 12 at 3:00pm when they travel to take on No. 2 Pomona-Pitzer in Claremont, CA.
