WHITTIER, Calif. – The University of Redlands Women's Lacrosse team (8-2, 4-1 SCIAC) dominated Whittier College from the first whistle as they secured a 19-0 road shutout Wednesday evening. It is their first shutout since 2023 when they defeated Eastern Oregon University 24-0.
Thanks to Nicole Sanders' (Irvine, CA) goal :47 seconds into the game, the Bulldogs had enough goals to secure the win. Over the next three and a half minutes Emily Webster (Ladera Ranch, CA) scored off a Ruby Czajkowski (West Hartford, CT) assist, and Sanders found the back of the net two more times.
The rest of the quarter included the first goal for Gwen Guico (Camano Island, WA) and the fourth and second goals for Sanders and Webster as Redlands led 7-0 after 15 minutes.
Redlands reached the 10-goal mark with 9:12 still to play in the half as Lupine Aumack (Eugene, OR) assisted Sophia Rangel (Woodland Hills, CA), Mallory Morrissey (Coronado, CA) found Czajkowski, and Sam Peters (Denver, CO) set up Jacqueline Landucci (San Mateo, CA).
The final three goals of the half came thanks to a pair of player advantage situations with Rangel assisting on two of the goals and April Bryant (Danville, CA) tallying her first of the night.
Five more goals beat the Poet keeper in the third quarter as Sanders, Webster, Guico, and Czajkowski made it 18-0 after three complete quarters.
The 19th and final goal of the game came in the final minute as Vivian Reukauf (Corvallis, OR) made it two-straight games with a goal as she was successful on her shot with :31 seconds on the clock.
11 different Bulldogs had a point with Sanders' seven leading the way. Czajkowski (5), Webster (4), Rangel (4), and Guico (2) also had multi-point nights.
Sophia Simonds (Livermore, CA) and Maya Weaver (Tustin, CA) had four and three ground balls each. They also forced seven combined turnovers. Cailin Walker (Portland, OR) was not a part of any goal scoring plays, but she won seven draw controls. Courtney Myers (Gig Harbor, WA) made five saves and earned the win.
Claremont-Mudd-Scripps is the Bulldogs' next opponent coming on the road next Wednesday, April 2 at 7:00 p.m.
