REDLANDS, Calif. - The University of Redlands Women's Flag Football team hosted the inaugural Redlands Round Robin tournament on their home turf this past week. The event brought together competitive teams from Saddleback College, Norco College, Irvine Valley College, and California Baptist University (Cal Baptist), providing a packed day of action and an exciting glimpse into the future of women's flag football at Redlands.

The Bulldogs showed heart and hustle throughout the day, playing three games falling 15-0 to Saddelback College, beating Norco College 26-0 and getting edged late by Cal Baptist 13-6—an impressive feat for a team that only launched two months ago. With an open and competitive atmosphere, the tournament offered valuable opportunities for development, chemistry-building, and unforgettable moments on the field.

"Against Norco, it was a great opportunity for everyone to get in and have some good playing time," said Bulldog Head Coach Tatum Etechoyen-Springer. "Delia had her first catch of the year and the Cal Baptist game was a nail biter of a loss with a rushing touchdown by Avery. The eleven games flew by and was just a sampling of what's to come next year for the Maroon and Grey, and I couldn't be more excited and proud of what this team was able to accomplish in two months."

Redlands demonstrated depth and resilience throughout the tournament, with contributions from both seasoned athletes and newer players. The team's offensive execution, particularly the highlight-worthy rushing touchdown by Stunz against Cal Baptist, and their all-around team effort on defense throughout the day reflected the hard work they've put in since the start of the season.

The Redlands Round Robin not only capped off a strong debut season but also served as a springboard for what's ahead. With momentum on their side and a clear sense of identity forming, the Bulldogs are laying a strong foundation for the growth of women's flag football in the collegiate space.

Redlands wraps up their season on Saturday, April 12 when they travel to take on the Claremont Colleges beginning at 1:00pm.
