SCIAC Men's Tennis Weekly Release (Week 11)
REDLANDS, Calif. – The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) selections were made for the Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week Monday in the eleventh week of voting with
Dominic Anderson (Brisbane, Australia) being selected as the Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week for the first time this season.
The University of Redlands Men's Tennis team wrapped up their 2025 regular season with a pair of wins this past week beating No. 37 Occidental College (5-2) and No. 30 Caltech (6-1) wrapping up the season 12-5, 6-1 SCIAC. They also secured the No. 2 seed in the upcoming SCIAC Tournament.
Anderson led the Bulldogs on the week picking up two wins against the Tigers. He partnered with
Jack Fanshawe (Brisbane, Australia) at No. 1 doubles winning 7-5 helping secure the doubles point. He then followed that with a three-setter at No. 1 singles, coming away with a 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 victory handing the Bulldogs another point.
On Saturday he wrapped up his week going 1-1 against the Beavers. His usual partner Fanshawe needed to travel back home so he was paired up with
Gustavo Marcanth (Redondo Beach, CA) and they would drop 6-3 seeing the Beavers take the early point in doubles. He rebounded nicely though at No. 1 singles earning a break in each set to win 6-3, 6-4 helping the Maroon and Grey come away with the clean sweep.
Redlands returns to the court this Thursday, May 1 when they host Caltech in a semi-final within the SCIAC Tournament inside the Verdieck Tennis Center.
