REDLANDS, Calif. - The University of Redlands Women's Flag Football team showcased their dominance on Saturday morning, defeating the Claremont Colleges Women's Flag Football team for their second win on the season with a decisive 19-0 victory at the "R" Field. The game was a display of skill, determination, and stellar plays, with each quarter offering fans a glimpse of the team's well-rounded talent.
The first touchdown of the game came in dramatic fashion as
Shannon Stewart (San Jose, CA) made a diving catch in the end zone, securing the first points of the game. The beautiful throw was delivered by quarterback
Averie Stunz (Stanwood, WA), whose precision on the throw set the tone for the game.
As the second half kicked off, the Redlands' defensive unit made a statement of their own. Middle linebacker
Nicole Immoos (San Luis Obispo, CA) intercepted a pass and ran it back for a pick-six, putting her team further ahead and adding another highlight to an already stellar performance. Immoos' defensive prowess was a key factor in keeping the Claremont Colleges Women's Flag Football team's offense off the scoreboard throughout the game.
The final touchdown for the Maroon and Grey came in the latter part of the game when Stunz threw a deep ball down the field to none other than Immoos. Immoos tracked the ball perfectly, making a remarkable catch and securing the final points of the game, sealing the 19-0 win for the Bulldogs.
The victory is a testament to the cohesive teamwork and individual brilliance of the Redlands squad, with key plays from both the offense and defense. This impressive win pushes them forward in the season, with more anticipation for their next match-up.
