REDLANDS, Calif. – Former University of Redlands Men's Water Polo player Max Wagener (Piedmont, CA) has been selected as one of two SCIAC nominees for the Division III Commissioners Association Men's Sport Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award.

He will advance to the next round of regional consideration joining California Lutheran University Men's Water Polo player Lincoln Hall.

Wagener, graduated with a degree in Psychology winning a pair of USA Division III Collegiate National Championships and was named a 1^st Team All-American in 2024, when he also was a CSC Academic All-District selection. Graduating Summa Cum Laude, he made the Dean's List all four years at Redlands and earned SCIAC Athlete of the Year recognition as a senior. Wagener volunteered in the University garden and rehabilitating elementary school gardens in addition to campus activities that included serving as vice president of the Psychology Honors Society, a psychology department tutor and SAAC representative.
