REDLANDS, Calif. - The University of Redlands is proud to announce the return of alumna and standout student-athlete Courtney O'Neal as an Assistant Track & Field Coach for the upcoming season. O'Neal, a decorated sprinter and jumper during her collegiate career, rejoins the Bulldogs program after serving as the Jumps Coach at Pomona-Pitzer since 2022.

At Pomona-Pitzer, O'Neal oversaw the Long Jump, Triple Jump, and High Jump events, guiding multiple athletes to All-Conference honors within the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC). She brings with her a USATF Level 1 coaching certification and a passion for developing student-athletes in both sprint and field events.

O'Neal's return to Redlands marks a full-circle moment in her athletic and coaching journey. During her time as a Bulldog, she was a key contributor to the university's nationally recognized sprint program. A three time NCAA National Qualifier in the 400m Relay (2019, 2021, 2022), O'Neal notably ran the first leg for the NCAA national runner-up 400m Relay team in 2022. She helped lead Redlands to a Top-15 national ranking in the 400m Relay in each of her four seasons.

In SCIAC competition, O'Neal captured four consecutive 400m Relay conference titles, while also excelling individually. As a junior, she placed second in the 100m and third in the 200m. In her senior campaign, she expanded her versatility by competing in the Long Jump and Triple Jump, earning a third-place finish in the Long Jump.

"It's incredibly special to come back to the program that shaped me as both an athlete and a person," said O'Neal. "I'm excited to contribute to the continued success of Redlands Track & Field and help the next generation of Bulldogs achieve their goals."

As Redlands Track & Field looks ahead to another competitive season, O'Neal's return promises to bolster both the coaching staff and the development of the program's jumpers and sprinters.
