Four Bulldogs voted SCIAC Athletes of the Week

REDLANDS, Calif. – The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced their Athletes of the Week Monday with the University of Redlands having four selections for the third time this season, which included Jude Holling (Slymar, CA), Joe Godoy (Los Angeles, CA), Maegan Deng (Torrance, CA), and Vitomir Petcov (Portland, OR).

Jude Holling (Men's Track & Field)
At the Bryan Clay Invitational Jude Holling broke the 38-year-old school record in the 400m Hurdles.

His time in the 400m Hurdles was 52.75, 0.21 seconds faster than Robert Walker's time in 1988. He finished 13th in the race.

Joe Godoy (Baseball)
The University of Redlands Baseball team picked up a crucial series over the weekend against Chapman University taking Game 1 (7-2) and Game 3 (11-9) to hold firm to the top spot within the conference standings.  

Joe Godoy helped in a big way starting Game 1 on the road Friday getting the win after throwing 8.1 Innings, with a perfect ERA 0.00, surrendering just two unearned runs and scattered six hits, while striking out nine.
  
Maegan Deng (Women's Tennis)
The University of Redlands Women's Tennis Team picked up two wins this week beating Caltech (5-2) and Chapman (6-1) to improve to 11-8, 4-2 SCIAC, securing a spot in the upcoming SCIAC Tournament.  

Maegan Deng continues to roll going 4-0 on the week with a 2-0 record at No. 1 singles and a 2-0 record at No. 1 doubles.

Against the Beavers she dropped just three games between the two matches winning 6-1 in doubles with Lindsey Whelan and then 6-2, 6-0 in singles.

Ending the week against the Panthers she only lost another three games between the two matches winning 6-3 in doubles with Whelan then double bageling her opponent 6-0, 6-0 in singles.
 
Vitomir Petcov (Men's Tennis)
The University of Redlands Men's Tennis Team picked up two wins this week beating Caltech (6-1) and Chapman (6-1) to improve to 10-9, 4-2 SCIAC, securing a spot in the upcoming SCIAC Tournament.
 
Vitomir Petcov was undefeated on the week going 4-0 with a 2-0 mark at No. 1 singles and a 2-0 mark at No. 1 doubles.  

Against the Beavers he partnered with MJ Abarca in doubles and won 6-3 before taking his singles match in straight sets 6-2, 6-4.

Ending the week against the Panthers he and Abarca went 6-3 again in doubles and he followed that performance with another straight sets win in singles 6-2, 7-5.
