REDLANDS, Calif. - The University of Redlands
Overwatch Varsity team had a clean sweep against Modesto College for their final game of the year moving their overall record to 10-4.
The team faced a long season, but the win highlights the growth that they have made as a team over the semester. "It was good to get the win, it has been a really challenging semester," explained Noam Larson (Noam). "Before we had a roster of nine, and there was a lot of change, who was starting and who was not starting and who was playing the map. I think going into this spring semester there was a lot more 'you have to be on the ball' and just be ready to go."
The team learned how to be quick and efficient and ready to go, no matter who is on the schedule and who is available come gameday. With a lack of players, they always had to be prepared, and the team saw a lot of growth in that area. With the final game of the semester done, most of the team is getting ready for finals and summer break, but Noam himself is preparing to graduate. His next steps are to get into the graduate program here at the University of Redlands and work towards becoming a teacher. He hopes to end up teaching students ranging from Elementary School and Middle School.
In the meantime, he plans to keep playing competitively as it is one of his passions.
The esports community wishes him luck as he begins this new chapter of his life! Despite the end of one season there are still weekly games happening and many teams are entering championships.
