REDLANDS, Calif. — University of Redlands women's golf saw three athletes named to the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar Team, announced recently by the WGCA.

Junior Savanah Christenson (Upland, CA), sophomore Kylie McGrath (Renton, WA), and First Year Cecili Hayes (Vancouver, WA) earned the distinction.

The WGCA has awarded scholar All-Americans since 2013-14 and the Bulldogs have had at least three representatives every season.

The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics and continue to demonstrate the high-level academic achievements of our players. To be selected, a student-athlete must have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher, be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season, and have played in 50% of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team's conference championship.

Christenson, a Political Science and Management major earns accolades for the second straight year had three top finishes during the regular season and ranked as the 62^nd highest rated player in the country and No. 14 in the west region with a 75.2 scoring average. She posted a pair of wins on the season and a trio of Top-3 performances.  She had a win at the Carla Spenkoch Invitational in Texas last October when she shot a 145 (72-73). Beginning in February, she tied for third at the West Coast Classic with a 150 (76-74). Her second event win was at the UC Santa Cruz Invite at the end of March when she finished her two rounds with a 146 (72-74).  Following the SCIAC Championships she earned herself 2nd Team All-SCIAC recognition and was later voted WGCA All-West Region.  

McGrath, an Engineering major who also earns recognition for the second straight year made 1st Team All-SCIAC for the first time in her career this season after a strong finish at the SCIAC Championships. She ranks No. 11 in Division III and No. 31 regionally to go with a 77.0 scoring average.  At SCIAC No. 1 she tied for seventh with a 152 (76-76). Then just over a month later at SCIAC No. 2 in windy Beaumont, she tied for ninth with a 165 (83-82). Her third top nine finish at SCIAC competitions this season came when she took seventh at the SCIAC Championships where she shot a 222 (74-76-72). Her final round 72 moved her up four places into the Top-8.  

Hayes, who is undeclared earns her first selection as a WGCA Scholar All-American making multiple appearances for the Bulldogs throughout the season.  She ranked No. 171 in Division III and No. 41 regionally with a 78.3 scoring average.  Throughout the season she had four Top-25 finishes including a 21st place finish at the West Coast Classic, 22^nd at SCIAC No. 1, 16^th at the Westbrook Village Invitational, 12^th at SCIAC No. 2 and 17^th at the SCIAC Championships.
