The University of Redlands welcomed Nikki Ayers as its new Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics on May 1, 2025. With an extensive background in athletic administration and a deep commitment to fostering student-athletes' academic and personal growth, Ayers brings a wealth of experience to the position.

Ayers oversees the University's athletic department, which encompasses 22 NCAA Division III sports, and plays a key role in shaping the strategic direction for the Bulldogs' athletic programs. Her responsibilities include developing and implementing strategies to enhance student-athlete experiences, ensuring academic success, and supporting the overall growth and development of the athletics program.  In addition, Ayers absorbed Compliance and Eligibility due to a departmental restructuring in late 2025.

"I am honored and excited to join the University of Redlands community," said Ayers. "Redlands has a rich history of success, both athletically and academically, and I am eager to work alongside the coaches, staff, and student-athletes to build upon that legacy. My goal is to continue creating an environment where student-athletes are able to thrive, not only in competition but also in their personal and academic lives."

Ayers came to Redlands after serving as the Director of Athletics at Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, where she played an integral role in shaping the athletic department's future. Prior to her tenure at Juniata, Ayers held leadership positions at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (CMS), where she was instrumental in leading the program to four NCAA women's national championships. Her expertise in athletic administration, as well as her ability to build strong relationships with faculty, staff, coaches, and student-athletes, has earned her a stellar reputation in collegiate athletics.

Ayers holds a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management from Juniata College, where she was a standout student-athlete herself.  She then earned a master's degree from Duquesne University in Leadership with a concentration in Sport Leadership. She has continued her professional development through various leadership and athletic administration programs and initiatives. Her approach to leadership emphasizes a balance between rigorous competition, academic success, and the overall well-being of student-athletes.
