Due to the uncertainty of air quality in Redlands, the Bulldog
men's water polo team headed to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps
Colleges on Saturday for an important Southern California
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) game against the Stags.
Redlands gained an early lead and eventually gained the 9-5 victory
to remain undefeated in conference competition.
Leading the charge, junior driver Buddy Olds (Murrieta, CA) and
junior driver Andrew Becskehazy (Surfside, FL) provided two goals
apiece. Junior driver Erik Grosshans (Oxnard, CA), sophomore center
Brendan Meaney (Palm Desert, CA), senior driver Tony Rona (Mercer
Island, WA), senior center Ryan Hall (Bellevue, WA) and sophomore
driver Brent Dotters (Porterville, CA) rounded out the scoring for
Redlands. Sophomore goalkeeper Teddy Trowbridge (Mercer Island, WA)
made seven stops while sophomore goalkeeper Jack Amaral
(Porterville, CA) patrolled the goal in the final minutes, making
one save.
The Bulldogs (16-10, 4-0 SCIAC) host Cal Lutheran University on
Monday at 4 p.m. in a make-up game from last Wednesday. This game
was rescheduled due to the recent wildfires in Southern
California.
