Riding the momentum of a seven-match win streak, the University
of Redlands men's soccer team chalked up another victory in
its march through Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference (SCIAC) play, defeating Caltech by a 3-0 score on Oct.
15.
Senior forward Alex Parker (Chula Vista, CA) provided both goals
for the Bulldogs, scoring in the 28th minute off a pass from senior
midfielder Bryan Fakkema (Oak Harbor, WA) and again in the 57th
minute off a feed from freshman defender Danny Day (Beaverton,
OR).
Also making himself omnipresent, junior midfielder Cale Rodriguez
(Norwalk, CA) tallied a goal and an assist, helping the Bulldogs
handle the Beavers.
Keeping a clean sheet in goal, junior goalkeeper Evan Hobson (San
Diego, CA) snagged the win for playing in between the posts
for 57 minutes of shutout soccer. Hobson notched two saves on the
afternoon while freshman goalkeeper Jason Smuckler (Woodland Hills,
CA) and freshman goalkeeper Charles Pratt IV (Phoenix, AZ)
contributed to the shutout.
The Bulldogs peppered the Caltech defense with shots as the team
held a 38-5 shot advantage over the hosts.
Caltech keeper Marcus Lucas stopped eight shots and allowed all
three goals in 90 minutes of action.
Redlands (9-4-1, 8-0-1 SCIAC) hosts the University of La Verne this

the top seed in the SCIAC Postseason Tournament. Kickoff for the
