For the third time in a row, the University of Redlands
volleyball team has come out victorious, and the Bulldogs'
3-0 win against La Sierra University on Oct. 2 brought the team
over the .500 mark for the first time this season.
Leading the team on offense, sophomore outside hitter Jackie
Hamilton (Loma Linda, CA) compiled a match-high eight kills.
Showcasing her marksmanship, freshman middle blocker Emily
Capozzoli (Poway, CA) racked up five kills on seven total attacks
for a stellar kill percentage of .571.
Both setters saw significant action on the court, and junior setter
Kelina Smith (Kurtistown, HI) provided the match's highest
assist total with 15. Freshman setter Allison Light (Wildomar, CA)
also contributed with nine assists.
Manning the defensive front, junior libero/defensive specialist
Lauren Harding (Altadena, CA) helped keep the rallies alive with 19
digs.
Redlands (8-7, 3-1 SCIAC) hits the road for the third time this
week tonight, taking on the Poets of Whittier College in a Southern
California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) match at
7:30 p.m.
