With just 1:08 left to play, senior driver Andrew Becskehazy
(Miami, FL) scored the game-winning goal after Pomona-Pitzer
Colleges mounted a five-goal comeback, and No. 14 University of
Redlands won 6-5 against the Sagehens at home on Oct. 22.
Redlands went up 5-0 during the second quarter, but Pomona-Pitzer
battled back to tie up the game. Becskehazy's goal, however,
kept the nationally-ranked men's water polo team from going
into overtime.
Junior center Brendan Meaney (Palm Desert, CA) and Becskehazy
tallied two goals apiece while senior utility player Buddy Olds
(Murrieta, CA) and junior driver Brent Dotters (Porterville, CA)
each provided one as well.
In goal, senior goalkeeper Teddy Trowbridge (Mercer Island, WA)
recorded eight stops.
For the Sagehens, Ben Hadley led scoring with two goals. Jaron
Moler, Ryan Balikian and Robert Hayes each notched one score as
well.
Redlands (17-7, 2-0 SCIAC) travels to Eagle Rock on Saturday, Oct.
25 to take on the Tigers of Occidental College at 11 a.m.
