The University of Redlands men's soccer team dropped a 1-0
decision at the hands of Chapman University in Orange on Sept.
10.
A Jeff Shah goal off of a penalty kick in the 68th minute gave
Chapman the advantage, and the Panthers held on to win.
Senior forward Ross Schunk (Portland, OR) led the Bulldogs in shots
with three, including two on goal.
Splitting time in goal with junior goalkeeper Evan Hobson (San
Diego, CA), freshman goalkeeper Jason Smuckler (Woodland Hills, CA)
tallied three saves and allowed one goal.
Redlands held the shot advantage, 10-9, and the Bulldogs also
received six corner kick opportunities to Chapman's one.
The team takes a week break before starting its Southern California
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) play on Sept. 17 at
Pomona-Pitzer Colleges. Redlands returns to Farquhar Field on Sept.
20 for a SCIAC match against Caltech.
