The University of Redlands women's volleyball team (3-6)
gave Bulldog fans what they'd hoped for against Caltech on
Sept. 15, winning 3-0 against the Beavers by set scores of 25-11,
25-9, 25-8.
Sophomore middle blocker Megan Phillips (Vista, CA) led the way for
the Bulldogs on offense, tallying 11 kills, and sophomore outside
hitter Jackie Hamilton (Loma Linda, CA) followed closely behind
with eight kills.
Freshman setter Allison Light (Wildomar, CA) and junior outside
hitter Ali Massei (San Carlos, CA) assisted on 14 kills apiece
while sophomore libero Chelsea Arcaris (Vista, CA) compiled a
match-high 13 digs.
For the Beavers, Katie Peters tallied seven kills and eight digs,
leading Caltech in both categories for the match. Lisa Yee picked
up six assists.
Redlands takes a weeklong break before a doubleheader on Sept. 23
at home. The team takes on La Sierra University at 3 p.m. and plays
its second Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference
(SCIAC) match against the Tigers of Occidental College at 7:30 p.m.
