It only took three sets to win this time for the Bulldogs as the
University of Redlands women's volleyball team handled
Caltech 3-0 on Sept. 30.
The team's young talent stepped up as freshman setter Allison
Light (Wildomar, CA) tallied 16 assists, two digs, two service aces
and one kill for a .500 kill percentage. Junior outside hitter Katy
Douglass (Roseville, CA) led the team offensively with seven kills
while freshman right side hitter Kelsey Kolar (Rancho Mirage, CA)
and sophomore outside hitter Jackie Hamilton (Loma Linda, CA) also
energized the Bulldog offense with six kills apiece.
Splitting the setting duty with Light, junior setter Kelina Smith
(Kurtistown, HI) compiled 10 assists. Junior libero/defensive
specialist Lauren Harding (Altadena, CA) solidified the defense
with 10 digs.
Redlands (7-7, 3-1 SCIAC) travels to La Sierra University on Oct. 2
to take on the Golden Eagles for the second time this season. The
Bulldogs won in their first meeting by a 3-0 final on Sept. 23.
