Box Score The University of Redlands men's soccer team jumped on top early on Saturday afternoon and cruised to a 5-0 triumph against the Caltech Beavers at Farquhar Field. While garnering goals from five different players in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) win, the Bulldogs outshot the Beavers 37-5.
Freshman midfielder Isaac Bogart (Lynden, WA) started the game off with a bang for Redlands, ripping a left-footed shot into the bottom-right corner of the goal in the 4th minute to give the Bulldogs the early advantage. For Bogart, it was his first-career score while donning a U of R uniform.
Redlands continued to press and keep the pressure on the Beaver defense, but despite hitting the post on a couple of occasions and forcing the Caltech goalkeeper, John David Feist, into five saves, Redlands would not score again in the first stanza. At the half, Redlands held a 19-2 shots advantage as well as a 5-0 edge in the corner-kick department.
The Maroon and Gray would finally find the back of the net again when junior midfielder Grahame Fitz (Menlo Park, CA) received a ball at the top of the box, took a couple of touches and blasted a shot into the bottom-left corner of the net, doubling the U of R lead. For Fitz, it was his first goal on the season.

With the Maroon and Gray holding the significant advantage in shots, Kustura led the way with five on the day and senior defender Richie Marquez (Pomona, CA) added a handful as well. Off the bench, freshman defender Craig Lepire (Whittier, CA) provided three shots and came close to scoring on two occasions.
After the match, Bogart talked about his first career goal and the Bulldog win.
