Box Score The University of Redlands men's soccer team began the 2015 campaign on Saturday night by facing off against the Colorado College Tigers in an in-region showdown under the lights at Farquhar Field. While recording 21 shots in the extended contest, the Bulldogs worked to bury the two that mattered and haul in their first victory of the season by the score of 2-1 in thrilling, double-overtime fashion.
Redlands wasted minimal time on the offensive attack, as it tallied a total of 13 shots in the first half alone. Freshman forward Kayvon Parsa (West Hills, CA) was responsible for four strikes, while sophomore midfielder Cody Dunham (Fountain Hills, AZ) carted an anxious foot by blasting off three.
The Bulldogs' defensive unit of junior Tom Elsea (Mission Viejo, CA), sophomore Keoni Yates (Kailua-Kona, HI), and sophomore Ben Thompson (Spokane, WA) limited the Tigers' shot attempts to three in the opening frame.
After a scoreless opening half, the Bulldogs netted the first score of the contest, compliments of the fleet-footed Parsa in the 51st minute. The score was set up perfectly with a nicely placed cross from sophomore midfielder Casey ChubbFertal (Eugene, OR). The pass was then redirected by Thompson to Parsa, who calmly blasted the shot between the goalkeeper's legs for his first career-goal with the Bulldogs.

After a seven-minute drought without a shot on goal, the Tigers converted the equalizer on a well-executed corner kick that was headed into the net in the 76th minute, tying things up at one apiece.
Despite the Tigers' offensive efforts late in the second half, sophomore goalkeeper Dylan Ochoa (Santa Monica, CA) showed off his poise by hauling in three saves in the final eight minutes of regulation, including a highlight-reel-worthy save off a second-chance opportunity from Colorado College.
Midway through the first overtime period, Redlands orchestrated a quality look when senior midfielder Peter Marsden (Woodside, CA) unleashed a low shot but misfired by just a few inches, eventually leading to a second overtime.
Nonetheless, the Bulldogs came charging down the field in the 105th minute on the foot of junior midfielder Austin Moore (Las Vegas, NV), who dribbled the ball with intent down the far side of the pitch. He casually found sophomore forward Chase Boone (Beaverton, OR), who gave a two-touch blast to fire off the game-winning score for the Bulldogs' 2-1 overtime victory.
The Bulldogs out-shot the Tigers by a 21 to 14 margin. Parsa led the offensive barrage with six shots, while Boone tried his foot four times.
Ochoa hauled in his first win of the season after allowing a lone goal and racking up five saves in 110 minutes of action.
Redlands (1-0-0) jumps right into Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) action on Wednesday, September 9, when it faces off against the Pomona-Pitzer Colleges Sagehens at 7:30 p.m. on Farquhar Field.
