Men's Water Polo Weekly Release (Week 1)SCIAC

REDLANDS, Calif. – The first Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) selections were made for Men's Water Polo Athletes of the Week Tuesday with Andrew Higginson (San Diego, CA) being selected as the SCIAC Offensive Athlete of the Week for the third time in his career.

Higginson led the University of Redlands to a 2-2 record at the Rare Air Challenge in Colorado with wins over Johns Hopkins University (20-15) and Ottawa University (11-7), as well as a narrow one-goal defeat to host Air Force Academy (14-13). He tallied seven goals and five assists to go with a steal and one drawn exclusion over the four games, which also included a matchup against No. 5 UC Davis.

Redlands hosts the Inland Empire Classic this weekend, September 9-10 where they will take on Fresno Pacific University (Sept. 9 @ 9:00am), UC Irvine (Sept. 9 @ 3:30pm), Austin College (Sept. 10 @ 8:00am), and Air Force (Sept. 10 @ 1:40pm).
