Game Recap: Men's Water Polo |

Redlands Men's Water Polo takes care of business at Caltech

PASADENA, Calif. – The University of Redlands Men's Water Polo team (9-10, 5-0 SCIAC) won their fourth-straight game and remain perfect in conference play following a 23-7 win over the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) Saturday afternoon.

Nicolas Fedotov (Miami Beach, FL) started the scoring with a powerplay off an assist from Thomas Byrne (Boulder, CO) and then Austin Galanski (Bakersfield, CA) scored off a feed from Callum Norman (Johannesburg, South Africa) as it was 2-1 after a first minute Beaver tally.  

Over the final 1:40 Dean Moody (Camarillo, CA), Ron Gvishi (Kiryat Tivon, Israel), and Kalani Nelson (Torrance, CA) all scored to make it 5-2 Bulldogs following eight minutes. Hunter Starkey (San Bernardino, CA) assisted Nelson's goal.

In the second Redlands stretched their run to 6-0 as Nelson, Tanner Stagner (Laguna Niguel, CA), and Joseph Madigan (Arlington, VA) all found the back of the net. Brody Nielsen (Capitola, CA) and Michael Villagran (Glendora, CA) both picked up assists.

Following a Caltech goal, Gvishi set up Byrne for Redlands' ninth goal. Nielsen, Moody, and Galanski finished the half strong for the Bulldogs as it was 12-3 at the break.

With the game in control Redlands continued to go into their bench receiving goals from Liam Gore (Glendora, CA), Harrison DeCourcy (Alameda, CA), Jack Everett (Westlake Village, CA), and Cameron Jones (Pleasanton, CA) who all put their names in the scorebook.

Troy Barker (Roseville, CA) and Michael Bannister (Bainbridge Island, WA) both played 16 minutes with Barker getting the start and the win making four saves and recording a steal. In the second half Bannister totaled six saves and a steal.

The Bulldogs remain on the road this Wednesday, October 23 when they travel to Los Angeles to take on No. 4 Occidental College beginning at 7:00 p.m.
