LOS ANGELES. Calif. – The University of Redlands Women's Soccer team concluded their 2024 season with a 2-1 road victory at Occidental College thanks to Caprial Loescher's (Portland, OR) game-winning PK in the 79th minute. The Bulldogs now take the season series against the Tigers wrapping up the year 8-10-1, 4-8 SCIAC.
The Tigers started out on the front foot forcing Bulldog keeper Nicole Immoos (San Luis Obispo, CA) into two early saves. Sabrina Semmere (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA) then took a shot in the 12th minute that forced a save.
In the 27th minute Jaiden Riodil (Tigard, OR) was able to make it 1-0 on her third goal of the season.
Recently returned CJ Akroush (Pasadena, CA) had her shot saved in the middle of goal in the 31st. Natalie Turiace (San Dimas, CA) also took a shot, targeting the bottom right corner, but it was handled by the Oxy keeper.
A late Immoos save helped preserve the 1-0 lead for the U of R heading into halftime.
In goal Immoos continued to maintain the 1-0 lead until the 66th minute when the Tigers finally were able to find the back of the net for the equalizer.
The rest of the game there would be only two more shots on target from either side. Both came from the Bulldogs as Turiace's shot in the 69th was saved. The second coming from Loescher's penalty kick in the 79th minute, which she converted for a 2-1 lead for the Maroon and Grey. It is her fourth goal of the season and the first and only penalty attempt drawn or conceded this season for the Bulldogs.
Shannon Stewart (San Jose, CA), who did not play the final two games of the season, finishes the year with 81 saves, the eighth most in single-season history. She also sits 65 saves behind Hannah Menk for the second most all-time and 112 off the program record holder Kim Stafford. Sami Salinas (Foothill Ranch, CA) finishes her career 13th in points among the 10 goal, five assist club members as she scored 14 times with 11 assists.
The Bulldogs return eight of their six regular starters in 2025.
