Bulldog Men's Basketball completes three-game sweep at D3hoops.com Classic in Vegas | Beat SUNY New Paltz 78-66

LAS VEGAS – The University of Redlands Men's Basketball team (10-2) took down SUNY New Paltz 78-66 for their third win in as many games at the D3hoops.com Classic at South Point Arena to wrap up 2024 competition.

After falling into a four point hole in the first two minutes, Chozen Amadi (Dallas, TX) made three straight triples to put the Bulldogs up five.

Redlands continued to trail down to the 7:03 mark, but would end the half on an 18-10 run holding their largest lead of the opening period as time expired thanks to a Dayvon Gates (Carson, CA) three off a Jhace Boston (Bakersfield, CA) assist.

Donovan Ware (Palmdale, CA) came out of the break and knocked down a pair of threes in the first three plus minutes as he helped establish the first double-digit lead for the U of R, 49-38, with 16:46 on the clock.

The Hawks drew back within single digits, 52-44, a minute later before Kendrick Currey (Manteca, CA) assisted Jake Hlywiak (Valencia, CA) the next trip down the floor as the Bulldogs held onto the double digit lead the remainder of the game.

Redlands held their largest lead of the game at the 7:32 mark when Omari Ferguson (Chicago, Ill.) took advantage of a Hawk turnover that made it 70-51.

Boston had an all-around night with 12 points, four rebounds, three assists, four blocks, and two steals.

Much like last night's game, the Bulldogs dominated New Paltz from behind the arc and at the line where they were plus a combined 40 points thanks to 13 made threes against two conceded.

Redlands returns to Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) play on Wednesday, January 8 at 7:00 p.m. when they host the University of La Verne inside Currier Gym.
