Women's Lacrosse ends weekend with 22-2 win over Lewis & Clark

REDLANDS, Calif. – The University of Redlands Women's Lacrosse team (5-4) won another non-conference game this season Sunday and their third this week beating Lewis & Clark College, 22-2 at Farquhar Field.

The Bulldogs opened the first three minutes of the game with three goals coming from Catie Ramicone (Cointryside, Ill.), Cailin Walker (Portland, OR), and Ella Batarse (Porter Ranch, CA).

At the 10:59 mark the Pioneers got on the scoreboard for the first time before the Bulldogs scored four unanswered to take a 7-1 lead. During the run Jenna Bradford (Anaheim, CA), Natalie Schumann (Murrieta, CA), and Emily Webster (Ladera Ranch, CA) all scored.

After conceding a second goal to Lewis & Clark with 6:05 on the clock, Ruby Czajkowski (West Hartford, CT) scored twice with Batarse adding a second tally as Redlands led 10-2 after one quarter.

The three goals to end the first were part of a 15-0 run the rest of the game as Maya Weaver (Tustin, CA), Jacqueline Landucci (San Mateo, CA), and Mallory Morrissey (Coronado, CA) all found the back of the net.

Redlands outshot Lewis & Clark 36-9, forced 23 turnovers, while committing only ten, were successful on 11-of-15 clear attempts, collected 20 ground balls, and were successful on 4-of-6 free-position shots.

Webster finished her day with five goals and three assists for a total of eight points, the 12th most in a single game, Batarse had four goals and one assist, Walker had six points thanks to two goals and four assists and Alyssa Ashley (Vista, CA) made three saves picking up the win.

As a team the Bulldogs' 22 goals are tied for the 10th most in program history, their 13 assists are a new program record that stood since 2016, and their 35 points tie the program record from 2019.

Redlands will return to Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) play this Wednesday, March 27 at 7:00 p.m. when they host Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
