CLAREMONT, Calif. – The University of Redlands Women's Lacrosse team (6-9, 2-8 SCIAC) dropped their Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) road game at RV Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS) Saturday afternoon, 24-1.
The Bulldogs got off four shots in the first quarter, three of which required saves coming from Ella Batarse (Porter Ranch, CA), Celine Flaig (Redondo Beach, CA), and Ruby Czajkowski (West Hartford, CT).
At the 10:45 mark of the second Flaig was assisted by Maya Weaver (Tustin, CA) for UR's first goal of the game with the only shot attempt of the quarter as they trailed 14-1 at the half.
After a third quarter where they were unable to get any shots off, the Maroon and Grey got a pair of looks from Catie Ramicone (Countryside, Ill.) in the fourth, both of which were on target but were handled by the Athena keeper.
Alyssa Ashley (Vista, CA) and Natalie Schumann (Murrieta, CA) finished with two ground balls apiece, Czajkowski had two draw controls, and Ashley posted 12 saves.
The Bulldogs return to Farquhar Field next Wednesday, April 17 at 7:00 p.m. when they host Whittier College for senior night.
