REDLANDS, Calif. – The University of Redlands Women's Lacrosse team (7-9, 3-8 SCIAC) won their final home game at Farquhar Field, 23-1, against Whittier College Wednesday evening as they celebrated their two seniors, Celine Flaig (Redondo Beach, CA) and Zoe Charum (Glendale, CA), while at the same time seeing Emily Webster (Ladera Ranch, CA) record her 100th career goal.
Flaig was assisted by Catie Ramicone for the opening tally only :31 seconds into the game. Ramicone then found Ruby Czajkowski (West Hartford, CT) for the second score.
Two and a half minutes later at the 10:47 mark Webster scored an unassisted goal for the 100th of her career in only her 32nd collegiate game.
After Czajkowski scored her second, Jenny Quinonez Diaz (Menlo Park, CA) forced a turnover just outside the Poet defensive area and took it all the way to goal before finishing moving the score to 5-0.
Redlands would score three more times in the first thanks to goals from Ramicone, Flaig, and Ella Batarse (Porter Ranch, CA).
In the first six minutes of the second quarter Flaig found the back of the net twice with Czajkowski picking up an assist.
Over the final five minutes and 42 seconds of the half Webster, Czajkowski, and Cailin Walker (Portland, OR) were able to beat the Whittier keeper to help extend the U of R lead at the half to 14-0.
Jenna Bradford (Anaheim, CA) opened the second half scoring with an unassisted goal at the 13:58 mark. With the score remaining in the Bulldogs favor at 17-0, Briannah McGee (Murrieta, CA) scored with a player advantage.
Maya Weaver (Tustin, CA) got herself in the scorebook with a goal that was assisted by Walker with 2:55 left in the third.
In the final 6:43 of the game Mallory Morrissey (Coronado, CA) scored while Whittier had a player in the box, Flaig scored for the sixth time, and Webster scored her 102nd tally. Webster now ranks 10th all-time in career goals, tied for eighth in single-season goals with 54, and ninth in points with 65. Flaig has 98 career goals after scoring six times and Ramicone finished with five assists, the third most in single-game history.
The Bulldogs' 23 goals are tied for the sixth most in a game. Their 10 assists are tied for 15th, the 33 points are tied for fourth, and their 22-goal margin of victory is the second largest. In goal Alyssa Ashley (Vista, CA) picked up the win playing all 60:00 minutes grabbing a groundball and posting three stops.
Redlands completes their 2024 season on the road at California Lutheran University next Wednesday, April 24 at 7:00 p.m. as the two teams will play at Oak Park High School.
