REDLANDS, Calif. – The University of Redlands Women's Tennis team took two of three doubles before sweeping singles play Tuesday evening at the Verdieck Tennis Center as they won 8-1 against No. 41 Caltech.

The Bulldogs have won four of their last five matches and improve to 9-5, 4-1 SCIAC.

It was a solid start for Redlands grabbing a quick two points.  Maegan Deng (Redondo Beach, CA) and Livi Rockwood (Park City, UT) rolled 8-0 at No. 1 and were followed by Christine O'Brien (Leawood, KS) and Kiana Brady (Hermosa Beach, CA) at No. 2 who won 8-2.  The last match on came at No. 3 with Gabby Rockwood (Park City, UT) and Rayna Sugai (Las Vegas, NV) going the distance ultimately falling in a breaker 8-7 (8).

This did not hinder the Maroon and Grey as they went into singles sweeping all six spots, with five of six matches being in straight sets.

Sugai was first off at No. 2 cruising 6-1, 6-1, moving the score to 3-1 and that then led to L. Rockwood putting another point on the scoreboard at No. 3 winning 6-1, 6-2.  The clinch came at No. 1 from Deng who would give up three games winning 6-1, 6-2.

The Bulldogs kept their foot on the gas pedal with Brady winning 6-1, 6-2 at No. 4 and G. Rockwood getting pushed to a tiebreaker in her first set at No. 5 before winning 7-6 (3), 6-1.  The last match on came at No. 6 from Deja Brown (San Diego, CA) who would come back from a set down to win 0-6, 6-1, 6-2 completing the sweep.
