The Sagehens made it 1-0 :29 seconds into the game forcing the Bulldogs to immediately try and push forward to gain more possession in attacking areas.
Through 24 minutes Shannon Stewart (San Jose, CA) had already made five saves as she maintained the 1-0 score in her final game as a Bulldog.
In the 29th minute Claire August (Mountlake Terrace, WA) forced the first save of the game from P-P. Madeline Tetens (San Diego, CA) also had her potential tying shot saved as the game remained 1-0 at the half.
Seven minutes into the second period the Bulldogs allowed another early goal, which became the eventual game-winner in the 52nd.
In the final 25 minutes CJ Akroush (Pasadena, CA) was able to find the back of the net finishing from 30-yards out. She took a couple of touches off a pass from Sabrina Semmere (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA) before hitting the ball with top spin looping it over the goalkeeper and below the crossbar.
Despite the goal Redlands never got another shot on target the rest of the way, while Stewart made four more saves including one in the 72nd that tied Hannah Menk (2014-17) for second most career saves with 279. A minute later she made her ninth save of the game and 280th of her career as she finished second in program history.
