Men's Basketball SCIAC Athletes of the Week (Week 1)

REDLANDS, Calif. – The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced their Athletes of the Week Monday for Men's Basketball with junior transfer Derek Sangster (Sunnyvale, CA) being selected as the Offensive Athlete of the Week in the first week of voting for the first time in his career.

Sangster dropped 28 points in a Division III debut and added 18 the next day as No. 6 University of Redlands picked up two wins in Santa Cruz over the host Banana Slugs and Pacific Lutheran University. The DI junior transfer shot 54 percent from the field, including a 7-for-9 mark from long range, while grabbing 13 rebounds, dishing out two assists and nabbing a steal.

Redlands has a big weekend with back-to-back games Friday-Saturday.  They open with a match-up against Pacific University on November 14 at 7:00pm before taking on Schreiner University on November 15 at 7:00pm.
