REDLANDS, Calif. – The University of Redlands Women's Volleyball team qualified for their first Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Tournament since 2009 by clinching the No 5 seed and will now travel to take on the No. 4 seed California Lutheran University (CLU) Tuesday, November 11 at 7:00 p.m.

This is the Bulldogs second all-time appearance, and they are 2-0 after winning the 2009 title. Redlands and Cal Lutheran have never faced off in the tournament before.
During the SCIAC season the Bulldogs ranked sixth in points per set (PPS) at 15.44, seventh in hitting percentage (0.166), sixth in kills per set (KPS) at 11.79, sixth in blocks per set (BPS) at 1.83, fourth in service aces per set (APS) at 1.83, and fourth in opponent hitting percentage (.159).
On the other side the Regals are fourth in PPS (16.53), fourth in hitting percentage (0.182), seventh in BPS (1.63), third in APS (1.85), and second in opponent hitting percentage (0.138).
Redlands leaders are Lily Houston (Reno, NV) with a .275 hitting percentage, the sixth-highest in SCIAC play. Makenna Vanhofwegen (Buckeye, AZ) was seventh in assists per set (5.37), Esha Ball (Fresno, CA) sixth in BPS (1.03), Lily Kautai (San Mateo, CA) fifth in KPS (3.06) and third in APS (0.44), and 'Ale'amaikalani Paiva (Honolulu, HI) fourth in digs per set (DPS) at 4.72.
CLU is led by Aby Tibesar who is seventh in hitting percentage (.271) and ninth in BPS (0.88), Makenna Kawamura is eighth in APS (5.25), Kaylee Clayton seventh in KPS (2.96), Kennedy Smith fourth in APS (0.41), and Keegan Corley first in DPS (5.71).
On the year the Regals swept the U of R outscoring the Bulldogs 6-1. Redlands comes in 14-10, 8-8 SCIAC with keys wins over then No. 1 University of La Verne (3-2) and No. 17 Claremont-M-S (3-2). Cal Lutheran held onto the No. 3 seed heading into the final week but was jumped by Whittier College due to a tiebreaker. The Regals enter the tournament 18-6, 11-5 SCIAC.
The winner of this match advances to the SCIAC Tournament Semifinal at No. 1 University of La Verne on Thursday, November 13 at 7:00 p.m.
