SCIAC Athletes of the Week

REDLANDS, Calif. - The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced their SCIAC Athletes of the Week with the University of Redlands having three selections including Mark Mitchell III (Fontana, CA), Anders Beckton (Seattle, WA), and Oliver Finley (Cape Town, South Africa). 

Mark Mitchell III (Football)
Mitchell III controlled the game with 23 rushes for the University of Redlands in a 29-14 win at the University of La Verne. The rookie cleared the century mark with 97 yards rushing and another four on a catch as the Bulldogs made up a nine-point halftime deficit to beat the Leopards.  He also added another 30-yards on special teams as a punt and kickoff returner.  

Redlands returns to the field this Saturday, November 8 when they host Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Senior Day beginning at 1:05pm. 

Anders Beckton (Men's Soccer)
Beckton registered key goal contributions in a pair of key 2-1 victories for the University of Redlands, which secured a share of the regular season conference title and the No. 2 seed in the SCIAC Tournament. The junior bagged both goals in the win at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and assisted on the opening goal against California Lutheran University.

Redlands has wrapped up their regular season and enter the SCIAC Tournament as the No. 2 seed hosting No. 3 Pomona-Pitzer on Thursday, November 6 beginning at 7:00pm. 

Oliver Finley (Men's Water Polo)
Finley totaled 10 goals and an assist in two key wins for No. 4 University of Redlands over RV University of La Verne (14-10) and No. 5 Chapman University (12-11) to keep the Bulldogs among the top third of the SCIAC standings.

Redlands returns to the pool this Wednesday, November 5 when they host Whittier College beginning at 7:00pm.
