PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The University of Redlands Women's Water Polo team (0-4) dropped their first two games of the Bruno Classic, hosted by Brown University, Saturday falling to Division I Marist College (25-2) and Iona University (20-4).
Game 1 (RV Marist College; L, 25-2)
Emma Parker (Yucaipa, CA) was the first Bulldog to score with 4:18 left in the opening half.
Then with a minute and a half left in the game, Gianna Ratto (Santa Rosa, CA) found the back of the net for the second Redlands tally.
Game 2 (Iona University; L, 20-4)
The Bulldogs were able to stay competitive with the Gaels early on thanks to Marlie Potocki (Joliet, Ill.) who scored less than three minutes into the game.
Iona, though, scored eight in-a-row before Parker converted on a powerplay with 4:30 remaining in the first half.
Aubree Nabors (Conroe, TX) and Alyssa Sorrell (Highland, CA) each scored to finish off day one scoring at the Bruno Classic.
The Bulldogs finish their trip with No. 25 Long Island University Sunday morning at 5:30 a.m. PST before playing T-No. 19 Harvard University at 10:00 a.m. Both games are hosted in Cambridge, Massachusetts at Harvard.
