REDLANDS, Calif. – The University of Redlands Women's Lacrosse team (7-2, 3-1 SCIAC) dominated Whittier College 23-2 Thursday night posting multiple team program records.
Emily Webster (Ladera Ranch, CA) fed April Bryant (Danville, CA) for the first of a number of goals :38 seconds into the game. That goal led to eight unanswered that had the Bulldogs up 8-0 after 15 minutes against the Poets who were forced to play down a player right from the get go. Webster scored two times as she netted a first quarter brace. Cailin Walker (Portland, OR), Ruby Czajkowski (West Harford, CT), Sam Peters (Denver, CO), Sophia Rangel (Woodland Hills, CA), and Lupine Aumack (Eugene, OR) also tallied goals. For Peters it was the first of her career.
Following the first Poet goal, Nicole Sanders (Irvine, CA) scored an unassisted connection before Bryant went on a personal 3-0 run pushing the lead to 12-1 at the 9:52 mark of the second. The rest of the first half saw Mallory Morrissey (Coronado, CA), Webster, and Rangel score for a 15-1 halftime advantage.
In the third it continued to be all Redlands as Maya Weaver (Tustin, CA) began the scoring with Webster, Peters, Sophia Simonds (Livermore, CA), and Aumack finding the back of the net for a 20-1 lead after three quarters.
Simonds' goal made her the second Bulldog on the evening to collect her first collegiate tally, however, she was not the last.
Vivian Reukauf (Corvallis, OR) joined the party with her first goal as a Bulldog :28 seconds into the fourth when Catie Ramicone (Countryside, IL) found her. It is her first with Redlands, but the second in her career as she scored as freshman for Colorado State University-Pueblo in 2022.
Fellow defender Jenny Quinonez Diaz (Menlo Park, CA) put away her first of the season before Emilie Duputel (Burtonsville, MD) tallied the final goal as she was the third Bulldog to record the first goal of her career.
Multiple new Top-10 records were set in the game, beginning with the 23 goals, which are the sixth most in single-game history. Other records included the program record for assists (14), program record for total points (37), which are combined goals and assists, and the third largest margin of victory (21).
The Bulldogs and Poets meet for the second-straight time next Wednesday, March 26 at 7:00 p.m. in Whittier.
