CLAREMONT, Calif. - The University of Redlands Women's Flag Football team closed out their 2025 season with authority, delivering a commanding 33–2 win over the Claremont Colleges in a game that highlighted the team's growth, chemistry, and explosive playmaking on both sides of the ball.

From the opening whistle, the Bulldogs set the tone. Avery Stunz (Stanwood, WA) got Redlands on the board early with a rushing touchdown, followed by a successful conversion from Rhiannon Waldschmidt (San Jose, CA). The offense kept rolling as Haley Carter (Mission Viejo, CA) connected on a beautiful 25-yard touchdown pass, assisted by a smart read and quick release from Delilah Garcia (Redlands, CA). Stunz added another point with a strong conversion run.

The defense came alive just as fiercely. Shannon Stewart (San Jose, CA) read a Claremont route perfectly, jumping it for a pick-six that electrified the sideline. Waldschmidt followed up with a massive 80-yard interception return for a touchdown and later hauled in a touchdown reception of her own. Vanessa Martinez (Mission Hills, CA) contributed not once, but twice on conversions—once through the air and once with a tough run, adding key points that cemented the Bulldogs' lead.

"Everything just clicked," said Head Coach Tatum Etchegoyen-Springer after the game. "The energy, the execution, the effort—it was the perfect ending to a strong season."

On defense, Poppy Captain (Redmond, WA) was a standout in the trenches, recording two sacks and narrowly missing a third due to a missed call. Waldschmidt added a third interception to cap off her defensive masterclass, locking down her side of the field all game long.

With the win, Redlands finishes their season not just with a victory, but with a clear statement about what's to come going 4-7. In just their first season, the Bulldogs have built something special—and if this final game is any indication, they're just getting started.
