ORANGE, Calif. – The University of Redlands Women's Lacrosse team (9-4, 5-3 SCIAC) never trailed as they took down Chapman University, 17-10 on the road, for their first win over the Panthers since 2018.

Freshmen April Bryant (Danville, CA) and Nicole Sanders (Irvine, CA) connected on the Bulldogs opening goal at the 11:52 mark of the first. After the Panthers responded :21 seconds later, Ruby Czajkowski (West Hartford, CT) found Emily Webster (Ladera Ranch, CA) and Sanders for a 3-1 lead with six minutes gone.

The lead would get cut down to one at the end of 15 minutes after Bryant and the Panthers each scored once over the final three minutes.

A 3-1 run to begin the second quarter gave the Bulldogs their largest lead of the game at three, 7-4. Sophia Rangel (Woodland Hills, CA) scored the first of the run before Bryant tallied twice in :42 seconds.

After holding Chapman to one goal for almost the entirety of the second period, CU scored with :11 seconds on the clock in what was the first of three unanswered goals to tie the game at seven with 11:45 to play in the third.

Redlands quickly responded with three straight across the next four minutes as they re-established their three-goal advantage, 10-7, with half the third quarter remaining.

Over the final 6:25 of the third Chapman and Redlands traded two goals each. Czajkowski and Bryant were the goal scorers for the Bulldogs during that stretch.

The U of R put the game away in the fourth when they outscored the Panthers 5-1. They conceded a tally :38 seconds into the quarter before ending the game with five in a row. During the stretch Maya Weaver (Tustin, CA) scored her first with Catie Ramicone (Countryside, Ill.) picking up an assist and Czajkowski would put together a hat-trick within a five minute span to end the game.
