CLAREMONT, Calif. – The University of Redlands Women's Tennis team saw their season come to a close Saturday morning as Maegan Deng (Redondo Beach, CA) would exit the NCAA Division III National Championship Individual Singles Tournament with an opening round loss.

Deng was tasked with the No. 1 player from Babson College Matia Cristiani who she faced last year at the NCAA National Championships but in the Second Round.  This time they squared off to open competition and Deng could feel the nerves dropping the opening set 6-0.  She regrouped settling in and dominating the second set going up 5-0 and was a game away from forcing a third but saw Cristiani put together a huge rally rattling off seven straight games to take the second 7-5.    

Redlands ends the year 8-10, 4-2 SCIAC, earned the No. 3 seed in the SCIAC Tournament and came away with four wins in conference play by the score of 4-3.   

Deng was selected 1^st Team All-SCIAC making an All-SCIAC team for the second straight year.
