Redlands Men’s Tennis receives At-Large bid into the NCAA Division III National Championships

INDIANAPOLIS – The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) announced the field of 44 for the 2025 Men's Tennis National Championships with the University of Redlands making the field as one of the 11 At-Large selections.

The Bulldogs have now made it as a team to the NCAA Division III National Championships for the second straight year and for the third time since 2013.    

The national tournament is scheduled to begin with First, Second, and Third-Round matches being played at regional sites from either Friday-Sunday, May 9-11 or Thursday-Saturday, May 8-10.

Redlands was placed in the Emory regional and received a first-round bye.  In the second round on Saturday, May 10 they take on Sewanee beginning at 11:00am PST in Atlanta, GA on the Woodruff PE Center Tennis Courts.  Host Emory University will face the winner of Averett University and Asbury University in the second round. The winner of that match will take on the winner of Redlands-Sewanee in the third round Sunday.

The Bulldogs, who finished second in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Standings come into the championships with a 13-6, 6-1 SCIAC record, posting a 6-5 mark against ranked opponents and currently rank No. 15 in the national polls.  They take on a Tiger squad that is coming off of an SAA Championship and is currently ranked No. 20 nationally, entering with a 21-4 overall record, including a 6-4 mark against ranked opponents.

Last season the Bulldogs beat No. 45 George Fox University (5-0) in the second round before falling 5-1 to No. 1 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (5-1) in the third round.

Redlands is led by 1st Team All-SCIAC selections Dominic Anderson (Brisbane, Australia) and Gustavo Marcanth (Redondo Beach, CA) and are coached by Michael Longanecker currently in his first season with the Bulldogs.

The Division III men's tennis individual championship selections will be revealed in a press release on Wednesday, May 7, on NCAA.com. Thirty-two individuals and 16 doubles teams will compete in the first round on May 23. Both the singles and the doubles national championships will be played on May 26.
