Men's Basketball SCIAC Athletes of the Week (Week 10)
REDLANDS, Calif. – The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced their Athletes of the Week Monday for Men's Basketball with University of Redlands junior guard
Jhace Boston (Bakersfield, CA) being selected as the Defensive Athlete of the Week in the tenth week of voting.
The University of Redlands Men's Basketball team had a clean 2-0 week beating La Verne (105-67) and Whittier College (105-60), averaging 105 PPG and limiting opponents to just 63.5 PPG, a mere 37% shooting from the field and just 20% from behind the arc.
Boston, who earns his second SCIAC Athlete of the Week recognition on the year was electric defensively doing it all combining for six steals, two blocks, five assists, eight rebounds (seven defensive), while chipping in with 13 points (6.5 PPG).
Against La Verne he played just 12 minutes but posted three steals, a block, an assist, four rebounds and five points. Then to finish off the week played just 19 minutes against Whittier and added three steals, a block, four assists, four defensive rebounds and eight points.
Redlands has a big week traveling to Pomona-Pitzer Monday, January 19 at 7:00pm, hosting No. 9 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Wednesday, January 21 at 7:00pm and then ending the week hosting Occidental College on Saturday, January 24 at 5:00pm.
