Bulldog Women's Soccer drops senior day game with Occidental

REDLANDS, Calif. – The University of Redlands women's soccer team (4-12, 3-8 SCIAC) honored their five seniors Nicole Immoos (San Luis Obispo, CA), Jaiden Riodil (Tigard, OR), Madeline Tetens (San Diego, CA), Faith Kasper (Menifee, CA), and Jessica Chavez (Cayucos, CA) Saturday morning before their final Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) home game of the season, which they dropped, 3-0, to Occidental College (Oxy).

Senior record-setting goalkeeper, Immoos began her day with a save in the third minute. With most of the early possession, the Bulldogs got their first shot on target in the sixth when Tetens' shot was saved.

Five minutes later, though, it was Oxy who scored first as they got out on the break, played it wide where a shot was taken and saved, but the rebound fell to another Tiger attacker, who finished making it 1-0.

Immoos made one more save, while Maddie Wallner (Littleton, CO) had a clean strike around the top left area of the penalty area, but it was straight to the Tiger keeper. A few minutes later Brooke Ramirez (Yucaipa, CA) had a look saved as well as the two sides went into half at 1-0.

It was all Redlands in the opening 14 minutes of the second half as they maintained possession and kept Oxy from getting out of their own half. During that stretch the Bulldogs saw Amanda Bear (San Diego, CA), Tetens, Wallner, Riodil, and Claire August (Mountlake Terrace, WA) all have shots on goal, but all would be handled.

Even more against the run of play than the first goal, Oxy came down on a fastbreak, and following a couple of cuts by their attacker, they found the bottom left corner at the near post, putting them up 2-0.

Eight minutes after the Tigers made it 3-0, Tetens had one final attempt saved in the 88th minute as the Bulldogs dropped their home SCIAC finale.

Redlands will play their home finale next Wednesday, October 28 at 7:00 p.m. when they host Azusa Pacific University for a non-conference game at Farquhar Field.
