REDLANDS, Calif. – The University of Redlands women's soccer team (2-9, 1-5 SCIAC) fell 5-0 to Pomona-Pitzer (P-P) Wednesday afternoon despite 20 saves by Nicole Immoos (San Luis Obispo, CA), the fourth-most in single-game program history.
Despite the end scoreline, it was a Claire August's (Mountlake Terrace, WA) shot in the fifth minute that was the first shot on-goal for either side.
Immoos then made saves in the seventh and ninth minutes, but the second of those saves rebounded off her and was slotted home for a 1-0 Sagehen advantage.
The rest of the first half Immoos made nine more stops. Taylor Tidquist (Snoqualmie, WA) did put an attempt on target in the final two minutes, but it was handled in goal as Redlands found themselves trailing by four, 4-0, at the half.
In the opening two minutes of the second half, P-P made it 5-0. Another nine Immoos saves the rest of the way kept the Sagehens from adding on any further.
Immoos now has 105 saves on the season, the third-most in program history, while her career total moves to 178, which is seventh all-time.
Redlands remains at home this Saturday at 11 a.m. when they host Whittier College.
