Baseball SCIAC Athletes of the Week (Week 3)

REDLANDS, Calif. - The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced their Athletes of the Week Monday for Baseball with University of Redlands junior first baseman Jesse Bullard (Riverside, CA) being selected as the Hitter of the Week in the third week of voting. 

The University of Redlands Baseball team came away with a clean sweep over the weekend against Whitman College (16-7, 16-2, 10-9).

Bullard put together a big weekend hitting .636 going 7-for-11 with five of the hits being for extra-bases.  He added seven runs scored, 11 RBI's, four walks, two doubles three homeruns, slugged 1.636 and added a .733 OBP.  

In Game 1 he was 3-for-4 scoring three runs, driving in three with a double, a homerun and two walks.  In Game 1 of the doubleheader he then went 2-for-2, driving in four, walking twice, scoring two runs with another double and a homerun. Then he ended the weekend going 2-for-5, plating another two runs, driving in four and connecting on another homerun.        

Redlands returns to the diamond this weekend, Friday-Sunday, February 27-March 1 when they travel to Conway, Ark. For a four-game set with Hendrix College.
